Bike tour tips with information on the region
Your hosts, Andrea and Bernhard, can provide you with basic information about the mountain biking region and biking tour tips when you check in at the reception desk. We know the region like the back of our hand and have several recommendations for your first biking tour.
That means that you can ride off on a mountain bike shortly after your arrival, without having to tediously study maps.
For Andrea, enjoyment is a priority. She will happily provide you with tips for the various cabins and their specialties. Bernhard himself is a certivied mountainbike-guide.
Host experience tour!
Bernhard will be happy to accompany you on an experience tour once a week: Discover the “Altaussee daffodil meadows” or the “chive fields” above Bad Goisern!
Directly from the Agathawirt-hotel you start not only into the famous "Dachsteinrunde"-Trail, but although in a second new signature-trail in the region, the Salzkammergut-E-Bike-Trail, a trail going through the whole Salzkammergut-region and including the best parts of the Dachstein-Hallstatt region! At least 3 parts of the trail could be done by starting directly at your Agathawirt-hotel!
Bike tours with the local guides
Bernhard will help you to plan your guided bike-tours with the local guides - Either you choose a bike-tour from our program or you decide in a private guide.
Alpine breakfast tour!
What could be more beautiful than to start a tour early in the morning and enjoy breakfast at the alpine hut? During a one-week bike holiday at Landhotel Agathawirt you will receive a voucher for “Häferl & Jausenbrettl” (Cup & cold platter) – an alpine snack at one of the cooperating partner huts – feel free to ask for possible huts/dates on-site!
Dachstein tour VR - new
The Dachstein circuit, with 5,100 to 7,800 metres of altitude difference and 184 to 269 kilometres depending on the variant - as a 3-day mountain bike tour around the Dachstein - can also be completed as a virtual race for the first time this year:
- The longest ascent per daily stage counts.
- The entry fee is Euro 19,-.
- The time is measured with an app.
Advice, information and support with individual tour planning
Bernhard and Andrea as well as the guides of the Salzkammergut Mountain Bike Centre are available as contact persons for questions about the Salzkammergut mountain bike region in general and for questions about individual tour planning.
Tips from trained mountain bike guides:
Two of the mountainbike-guides favourite tours are the Kaisertour with a variant via the Tauernweg to the Hütteneckalm ("because they are simply great paths") and the Plassen Round (because not only the view is phenomenal, but stopping off at the Roßalm is so incredibly cosy). The team is composed only of trained mountain biking guides (Mountain Biking Instructor Exam) from the Salzkammergut.
